To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking skilled trades individuals to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.
Placements are available August 2025 and will be between?12 - 18 months in duration.
Responsibilities As a Sheetmetal Mechanic you will perform duties like the below: Lay out common sheet metal forms, duplicate samples, apply templates to sheet metal and plastics of various gage thickness.
Fabricate, assemble, install, repair, perform alterations to various types of sheet metal articles and equipment.
Work indoors, outdoors and aboard submarines and surface crafts performing sheet metal installation or repair work in extremely crowded spaces that involve awkward overhead and other extremely cramped positions.
Eligibility Criteria The successful applicant must possess: Australian Citizenship Minimum Cert III Engineering (Fabrication Trade) 1-5 years' experience (desirable) An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance Additional Details During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training.
This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
At the completion of your deployment, you will?return to Western Australia (WA)?to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines.
Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
