About the Opportunity
As a valued member of our highly respected National Ecology team, you will enhance Umwelt’s reputation for ecological projects throughout Victoria and expand our service capacity in this area. We are seeking an ecologist who is looking to progress their career in ecological consulting.
Our ideal candidate should have previous experience in conducting ecological fieldwork in Victoria and a strong motivation to enhance their technical skills across diverse projects. We provide support for your technical development, flexible work arrangements, and acknowledgment of your accomplishments within our supportive, collaborative team.
About You
We are looking for an Ecologist who has the following:
* Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology (or similar)
* 1-5 years’ relevant experience, (prior consulting experience highly regarded)
* Experience with Victorian biodiversity survey and assessment requirements
* Prior experience and knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
* Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members
* Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparing reports
* Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
* Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work
