This role is suited to someone who has experience working in a fast-paced agency with previous team management experience.
You'll take on a senior role in our design team, servicing ongoing clients from a range of sectors including infrastructure, local government, education, construction, professional services, and manufacturing, in addition to new brand and campaign projects.
The role is negotiable, with a minimum of 0.8 FTE - 1.0 FTE.

Manage and oversee multiple digital and print design projects from conception to completion.Interpret client design briefs and seek clarification directly, where required.Ability to think strategically, creatively, and tactically to articulate compelling visual concepts, mood boards, and design with high-quality results.Work with account/project managers, leadership team, and the design team to meet the client brief/objectives.Oversee and help with finished artwork and production (strong attention to detail such as checking and approving colour, copy, text formatting, and images for print production).Attend press checks.Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.Support workflow and resourcing to manage competing client demands.Work alongside the lead consultant to create accurate project estimates and deliver projects within budget.Provide art direction and attend photoshoots, where required.Manage time efficiently, delivering work within agreed timelines and budget.Provide regular project updates to project leads.Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics.Attend and support the facilitation of brand workshops.Help mentor and educate junior designers and review junior designers' work to ensure high quality.Attend and present client brand presentations.Keeping informed on latest trends and forecasts.Stay up-to-date with industry developments and technical tools; research design and technological trends; review professional publications; and participate in professional groups.Share knowledge and ideas!Track time on a daily basis.Become our "brand guardian" and maintain brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communications.Work with our clients and team members in a manner that is reflective of our organisational values.Essential Experience and QualificationsBachelor Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or similar field.Minimum 8 years of design experience in an agency is essential.A complete portfolio of all design projects.Well skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Adobe Acrobat).Experience in supervising/managing a small design team, and freelancers.Knowledge of graphic design techniques and latest trends.Experience in using project management systems.Be agile and flexible in a fast-paced environment.Ability to confidently and calmly work under pressure.Excellent communication and time management skills.High level organisational skills.High level analytical and decision-making skills.Accepting of giving and receiving feedback to team and clients.Collaborative approach to problem-solving.Team player who enjoys and prioritises the development of others in the team.Applicants who do not send a portfolio will not be considered.
