Large retail group, operating in Australia and New Zealand is on the search for Senior Payroll Officer to join our team, based out of our Support Office in CDB, Melbourne.
This role will assist to control the payroll function in our steadily growing company of over 8000 employees.
As part of the wider People & Culture team, we view our operations and retail sites as our customers and are continuously setting the tone internally on what great service looks and feels like.
We continue to grow our portfolio and are looking for someone who can grow with us and in turn adapt, evolve and innovate both in the role itself and our systems.
What Else Will You Be Doing? Leading and coordinating a payroll team of six, providing support and coaching Managing end-to-end payroll processes, including monthly and end-of-financial-year (EOFY) procedures Overseeing compliance and producing accurate ad hoc and regular reporting Responding to internal and external payroll queries via a ticketed Helpdesk system Supporting and promoting compliance with payroll policies and procedures across the business Ensuring payroll system integrity, meeting all audit and change control requirements Verifying timekeeping data to prevent overpayments or underpayments Applying your understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and relevant Awards Driving the development and delivery of operational payroll training Supporting innovation, process improvements, and adapting to a changing environment What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years' experience in full-function payroll across Australia and New Zealand Proven experience leading a payroll team in a large or complex organisation Strong working knowledge of Meridian MicrOpay (essential) Experience with Humanforce (T&A) is highly regarded Proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office programs Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail A strong understanding of current tax, superannuation, legislation, and award interpretation Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement What Can We Offer You?
