The policy team engages with a wide range of subject matter experts across industry, the community, the Department of Customer Service and other government agencies to develop a comprehensive evidence base to inform Government decisions on housing and building industry issues. The team also comprehensively review recent research and innovative solutions to create future focused policy to support the Minister to develop and implement legislation. If you have an interest in public policy and want to make a real difference by working on issues that will help improve people’s lives and help businesses in NSW, please come and join us Key responsibilities - Leading engagement across Government, industry and the community to develop policy and legislative reform proposals. - Leading teams to develop a comprehensive evidence base to inform Government decisions and building industry issues. - Working with Departmental leaders to support the Minister to develop and implement legislation and Cabinet Submissions. - Leading engagement with industry and community stakeholders to find opportunities to work together to address issues across the construction sector. - Develop teams to increase capability across the policy cycle, including problem identification, options development, implementation and evaluation. Key challenges Influencing and negotiating key timeframes in line with competing demands, including parliamentary, stakeholder and internal workloads and timelines.
