The role of Social Media Officer will be to assist the Graphics and Social Media Coordinator in managing day to day social media posts, Derbarl conducted or participating event photography & videography, ID card production and assistance with Health Promotions posts. Key Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to: Work in conjunction with Marketing and Design Officer on a social media and marketing plan. Provide design support to the Marketing and Design Officer on print and digital projects. Manage the Derbarl social media platforms and prepare content for social media, ensuring posts are culturally safe and attractive to the Aboriginal audience. In consultation with the Health Promotions team create a calendar of social media posts aligned to national and local community calendar events. In consultation with the Health Promotions team, create a calendar of possible social media posts and assist with promotional strategies to support our health messaging. Attend official and community events as Photographer and manage the Derbarl photo database. Essential Qualifications: Relevant qualification in graphic design or multi-media marketing, or final year student of relevant qualification. Experience, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge and application of design software packages including Adobe Creative suite (Adobe, Illustrator and InDesign) and MS Office suite of products. Working knowledge of web-based content management systems, photography and related equipment. Knowledge and experience of the pre-print and printing processes. Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and coordinate and meet timeframes. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills – able to communicate with clients and external visitors, managers and staff at all levels and present a professional image. Work experience in a social media/graphic design role. Sound illustration skills with an ability to be creative & innovative with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in videography and video content creation. Other Requirements: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pursuant to Section 50D of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act (Essential). Current National Police Clearance. Valid Drivers’ License and willingness to travel as required. Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
