At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Care Companion, you’ll create cherished moments each day.
The Care Companion is responsible for all primary care needs of our residents including ADL care, provision of meals, cleaning and laundry. This role will contribute to a successful and sustainable care culture at our residential aged care homes with a small household living model.
• Providing care and support to our residents using a person-centred approach.
• Responsibilities include everyday activities of cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal hygiene, general activities, medication administration, leisure activities and other general household duties.
• Promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities.
• Undertake care and documentation to the highest standard.
What you’ll bring
You’re reliable, resilient and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are genuinely interested in supporting others and making a difference in your community.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
* Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
* Previous experience in Aged Care is desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Previous experience in cooking or working in a hospitality environment.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
● Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Individual Support
● National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance
● Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
