This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right person. If you are into all things 'food' in the context of early childhood - we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a person that is passionate about food sustainability, edible gardening, sourcing food locally, food that is in season, cultural aspects of food and of course feeding children healthy whole food. We are looking for someone with knowledge or the will to learn inclusion of native ingredients in meal preparation. You will connect and network with the local community to provide locally sourced, in-season produce. You would be responsible for meal preparation, menu planning, food safety, purchasing and food education with children. You will have a good understanding of food lifestyle choices, specific dietary requirements including meals for children with severe food allergies and an understanding of safe foods and developmentally appropriate foods. You will work closely with our early childhood team and utilise garden produce. The Kitchen is the heart and soul of Perry St and strongly reflects the philosophy of sustainability, community, connection and collaboration. We are a current member of the Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden foundation. Perry Street is closed for a 2 week break over the Dec/January school holidays. Requirements: Working with children's check, National Police check, Food Safety Supervisor Level 1 & 2 certificate and First aid Level 2. A monthly RDO optional. Please email for the Position description and further information. #J-18808-Ljbffr
