We are seeking to establish a pool of Generalist Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Menzies Community School is situated 130kms north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and is a highly supportive, welcoming and inclusive school. The current school population of 27 includes not only students from Menzies township but also students who travel by bus each day from Morapoi Station.
Small class sizes allow us to implement our Scaling Up for Success (SUPS) focus on Literacy and Numeracy with whole school low variance explicit instructional methods. The school currently has two primary classes one of which is a dedicated Early Childhood centre (K-2), Years (3-6), as well as a high school room (7-12) in which supervision is provided for students who are enrolled in subjects through the School of Isolated and Distance Education. Our students learn Key Word Signs, Auslan and Wangkatja languages. The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate, motivated and skilled educators who are committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day. A commitment and passion for developing knowledge and skills embedding the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework and commitment to SUPS learning and coaching is essential. Experience using and implementing Multi-lit, top ten maths, ICT, 2-way Science and Humanities and Social Sciences will be highly regarded.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Menzies Community School in 2025 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
