Lead Power Systems Engineer
The opportunity
As our new Lead Power Systems Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the power systems team who play a pivotal role in the ongoing energy transformation towards a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.
Your role will include:
1. Mentor and lead junior and mid-level staff to deliver complex technical tasks.
2. Champion high quality delivery, and lead development of new tools and improvements to existing ones.
3. Lead and contribute to winning work within the team's skillset, and for the wider Aurecon group.
4. Support the wider Aurecon team's projects with advice on power systems, electrical and NER related topics.

What are we looking for from you?
Alongside your industry experience in similar engineering consulting, or equivalent roles, you’ll also have:
5. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar.
6. Hold RPEQ Certification.
7. Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of at least 2 out of 3 of PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory.
8. Understanding of the NER S5.2.5 and S5.3 technical requirements.
9. Understanding of the connection process from Connection Enquiry through to commissioning.
10. Demonstrated ability to both read and write Python automation code.
11. Strong understanding of Power System Studies and Power Systems.
12. Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
