Our Finance and Business Services Division oversees the department's budget and financial compliance responsibilities, its infrastructure and assets portfolio, as well as procurement and quality assurance functions, business improvement and technology and screening transformation.
They provide support and strategic advice across the department regarding a range of DHS goals, systems and processes.
Role Details
The Department of Human Services is recruiting for a Screening Transformation program, a two-year initiative aimed at modernising screening services for the future.
The Screening Transformation program will deliver an improved screening system to contribute to safeguarding vulnerable people (including children), while providing a fair and robust process for people seeking to join the workforce or volunteer.
You will gain exposure to a multi-faceted program of work, using state of the art process and data automation to review and improve operational efficiencies and enable more timely screening outcomes.
Improving the efficiency of the screening system will enable organisations to focus on service delivery, and enable workers and volunteers to start serving the community sooner.
The Screening Transformation program will:
Improve customer experience for individuals Alleviate administrative burden on registered organisations Enhance system stability and performance Expand system capacity for future adaptations Realise internal operational efficiency and improvements.

About the Role
The role will operate within the Finance and Business Services division and is accountable to the Director, Screening Transformation for:
Utilising contemporary change management methodologies and tools to plan, direct, and lead the development and implementation of change management activities for a major program of work.
Leading cultural, process, system and behavioural change resulting from the delivery of an end-to-end transformation of the DHS Screening service.
Building and managing strong internal and external stakeholder communications and relationships to influence and guide the effective and collaborative integration of change initiatives.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities:
Providing expert, consultancy, and advice to the Screening Transformation Program on a diverse range of complex and sensitive matters including the use of change management practices, processes, and systems.
Lead critical change management aspects of the Screening Transformation Program ensuring sensitivity, timeliness, and consultation with stakeholders.
Determine change goals and priorities and develop targeted change management plans and strategies which reflect operational reality.
Design, lead, and coordinate the development, delivery and review of policies, strategies, plans and services that drive transformation, change and strategic objectives across the Screening Transformation Program.
Prepare high level written documentation including project briefs, change management plans, status reports and policies.
Build positive and effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders through a range of strategies that ensure optimal levels of project and service delivery, productivity, knowledge sharing and stakeholder satisfaction.
Establish forums, working groups and consultative mechanisms to engage all staff in change management initiatives.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department.
The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

Desirable: Tertiary qualification in a relevant business or human resources discipline and/or Certification in project management (e.g.
CAPM, PMP)
