As part of the team you will be fully supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team and enjoy an established patient base and a practice that is constantly growing. The practice is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Fridays and closed Saturdays and Sundays and can therefore offer you flexibility in the hours you choose to work. The practice:Is QPA accreditedHas a private billing structureIs a fully equipped, established medical practiceOffers on site pathologyOffers competent and friendly support staffHas an established patient basePosition Description:Demonstrate high quality clinical skill in general practiceAble to use professional clinical judgement in the delivery of rural general practiceAble to evaluate and apply medical interventions consistent with evidence-based medicineAble to recognise and manage deteriorating patientsAble to perform procedures safely and within their competence and defined scope of practiceDemonstrate knowledge of common therapeutic agents, uses, dosages, adverse effects and potential drug interactions and ability to prescribe safelyDemonstrate knowledge of infection control principles and safe practice in relation to blood borne infections in patient careCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing with patients and their families and other members of the health care teamClearly document patient care and maintain complete and timely medical records/progress reportsAble to show compassion for patients and sensitivity to their culture, ethnicity and spiritual issuesExhibit high standards of moral and ethical behaviour towards patients, families and colleagues including an awareness of appropriate doctor/patient boundariesParticipate actively in ongoing Continuing Professional DevelopmentQualifications & Experience:Fellowships with either the RACGP or ACRRMRegistered with AHPRAMedical Indemnity InsuranceJob Type: Permanent - Full Time or Part TimeAfter Hours Requirements: No weekends (Monday – Friday only)Salary Information: 70% of billingsAbout Townsville:Townsville is a coastal city in north-eastern Queensland, Australia.
