About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will manage the overall coordination and planning of a battery energy storage facility project, which supplies stored energy to the grid. This office-based role in Melbourne involves overseeing project progress and ensuring milestones are met, while the consultants handle the hands-on work at the site. The role is primarily office-based with flexible working arrangements, offered initially on a 6-month contract with the potential for extension.
Duties:
1. Manage the development phases of the wind farm project, focusing on the integration of new battery storage systems.
2. Coordinate with external consultants who are responsible for the hands-on execution of the project.
3. Track and report project progress, ensuring it aligns with timelines, budget, and quality standards.
4. Assist in preparing project contracts, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clearly defined; whilst monitoring contractor and vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and timelines.
5. Ensure the accurate completion of project deliverables and compliance with technical specifications.
6. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management on milestones, risks, and potential challenges.
7. Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of project documentation, including regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
To be successful you will need to have 50% of the below requirements:
1. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Previous experience in project engineering or coordination, preferably in renewable energy projects (wind farms or battery storage).
3. Contractor-side experience preferred.
4. Strong understanding of project management processes and procedures.
5. Experience coordinating technical projects with external consultants or contractors.
6. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
7. Strong administrative skills including competency with MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint (desirable).
8. A current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License with the ability to travel to site as required.
