Our client is a distinguished and vertically integrated grain production, storage, and logistics operation nestled in the heart of Australia's prime wheat, barley, and sorghum growing region. Spanning approximately 20,000 hectares of fertile farming land, they meticulously cultivate a diverse array of crops, employing precision farming techniques to ensure sustainability and high yields.
Supporting their ongoing success in the industry, a skilled Site Operations Manager is required to join their team in Goondiwindi, QLD.
The Role
As the Site Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a large grain handling facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Reporting to the General Manager of Grain Storage and Transport, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
1. Planning and implementing the movement, storage, and handling of grain within the complex, ensuring hygiene compliance and export standards are met.
2. Overseeing grain sampling and weighbridge operations.
3. Managing bunker storage, including building, breaking down, and tarping.
4. Assisting in strategic planning for grain complex operations.
5. Organizing and planning machinery and equipment maintenance.
6. Operating site machinery and planning/coordinating associated maintenance schedules.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience, and the ability to effectively coordinate, train, and supervise seasonal workforces. Collaborative, reliable, and accountable are key traits to have in order to succeed in this role. Whilst previous experience in a grain storage/logistics facility is desirable, a desire to learn and further a career within the industry will be equally considered.
To be considered for the role, you must be able to address the following criteria:
1. Machinery operation experience – Loaders, Tractors, Forklifts, Bobcats, and more.
2. Strong understanding of OH&S in an agricultural setting.
3. Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team.
4. Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Basic mechanical knowledge.
Other certifications/licences desired for the role (or willingness to acquire) include:
1. HR Driver’s Licence.
2. Current First Aid Certificate.
3. Forklift and Front-End Loader Licence.
4. Confined space qualification.
5. Working at heights qualification.
