Inspired by our commitment to innovation and resident-centred dining, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Catering Assistant to join our team and help redefine the aged care dining experience.
The Role: In this role, you will report to the Head Chef.
You will be a key part of our collaborative catering team, contributing to seamless operations at our Aegean Village site.
As a passionate and experienced Catering Assistant, you will work as a member of our wider kitchen team.
You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering and presentation while handling, preparing, and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks.
You will demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards.
What you'll do and be responsible for: Preparing and dishing up meals in accordance with our food quality standards and residents' dietary requirements.Support the implementation of dining initiatives to enhance the resident experience.Maintain food quality, safety, and presentation standards in collaboration with the team.Engage with residents during meal service to ensure their dining satisfaction and comfort.Adhere to infection control, manual handling, and WHS procedures in accordance with our policies and procedures.Work closely with team members to provide excellent customer service to our residents.What you'll need to succeed: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.Experience preparing food for diverse dietary needs, including allergen-sensitive, customized, or texture-specific meals, gained in hospitality, catering, or similar environments.Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.Willingness to learn and adapt to the preparation of texture-modified meals and specialized diets through training and support provided.A focus on innovation, aligned with our organizational values of courtesy and kindness.Ability to adapt and bring transferable skills from high-end hospitality or other culinary settings.It would be helpful if you had (but is not essential to apply for the role):
