EBA or Health Exec Employment Remuneration Policy The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) plays a pivotal role in ensuring MBPH fulfills its vision and purpose, placing patients at the centre of everything the health service does. As a member of the executive team, you will be contributing to strategic decision-making, strong governance, and organisational leadership. In this executive role, the CMO provides critical medical leadership across a multidisciplinary team of over 300, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality clinical services that meet the specific needs of the Northern Mallee Community. Acting as a bridge across the multidisciplinary services, the CMO advocates for the evolving needs of the service and actively drives initiatives to strengthen the clinical governance framework. Additionally, the CMO oversees MBPH's research and medicolegal functions, ensuring alignment with legal and ethical standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As a part of the Partnership with the Northern Mallee, the CMO is also responsible for oversight and delivery of contracted Director of Medical Services duties at the Mallee Track Community & Health Services, a Northern Mallee regional partner health service providing primary, aged, inpatient care, and community services in the communities of Ouyen and Sea Lake. To be successful in this role, you will have: Current, unrestricted registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia, or ability to gain registration, is essential. Fellowship of an Australian Specialist Medical College, or equivalent, is essential. Fellowship or Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) is highly desirable. A postgraduate qualification in health administration, or equivalent, is essential. Executive level management experience in a complex public referral or teaching hospital. Extensive experience in effectively managing a workforce of junior and senior medical staff and students, including knowledge of College, AMC, and prevocational accreditation requirements.
