What you’ll do:
We're looking for someone with a passion for modern web technology and a focus for building the foundations for excellent user experiences. You are highly collaborative but able to work independently with a goal oriented mindset.
This will be an engineering role for the development of services for our new client facing platform that will allow our clients to have a single place to plan, book and measure their advertising campaigns with Cartology. The role will require developing and supporting a well designed api service layer that supports delivery of insights and recommendations; provide a streamlined booking flow; and allow clients to track the progress of their campaign against their objectives with suggestions on how to optimise their campaigns. The product will be able to support high availability, scalability and be able to work with large data sets.
* Develop backend service components for our new ad booking and campaign management platform.
* Ensure test coverage, code quality, stability and scalability of the platform in production.
* Work collaboratively with Product Owners, BAs, QAs and other engineers.
* Contribute to system design & improvements.
* Contribute to planning and estimates.
* Contribute to shaping and fostering an engineering culture that values innovation and excellence.
What you'll bring
* 5 + years experience within a Java Software Engineering role
* Strong programming skills and knowledge of server side technologies like Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot.
* Able to write clean, well-organised, testable and maintainable code.
* Understanding of REST and service-based architecture.
* Experience in the design and development of RESTful web services.
* Understanding of message-driven integration techniques.
* Experience in cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
* Experience with TDD and BDD.
* Understanding of software design patterns and best practices.
* Understanding of agile development practices (XP, Scrum, Kanban).
* Highly advantageous would-be strong domain knowledge of the advertising media industry and technology landscape. As well as experience with Kubernetes, relational databases, SQL, BigQuery. Building integration solutions SAAS systems and/or experience integrating with media platforms or systems.
