Commercial Manager – CopperString 2032

The Project UGL And CPB Contractors Have Been Awarded The Early Works Contract To Support Powerlink’s Delivery Of CopperString 2032. This $5 Billion Iconic Project Will Initially Be Approximately 840 Kilometres Of New Transmission Line Running From Just South Of Townsville To Mount Isa That Will Connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province To The National Electricity Grid.
The Project Scope Includes:
1. 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
2. 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
3. 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
4. Up to six new substation sites
This exciting project has commenced construction, and we are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team. This role will be based in the Bowen Hills, Brisbane office.
What Will a Day In This Role Look Like?
As Commercial Manager, you will be accountable for:
1. Leading and managing a project commercial team.
2. Ensuring the effective implementation of commercial and financial risk management procedures.
3. Negotiation, preparation and recommendations for approval of contracts for award.
4. Ensure that all contracts meet the legal, commercial and corporate standards and agreed benchmarks.
5. Review monthly and quarterly budget/cost reports for projects and provide direct advice to project Senior Management on risks and opportunities.
6. Provide commercial improvement initiatives whilst driving best practices.
7. Preparation and issuance of contract correspondence to Contractors.
What are we looking for you to bring to the team:
1. Significant experience in a commercial management role preferred.
2. Extensive experience of accountability for the commercial management working with a Tier 1 company on large scale projects.
3. Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Demonstrated ability to communicate across senior leaders and stakeholders to manage business readiness and impacts to strategies and plans.
