Established in 1978, Capital Chemist has grown into an award-winning group with around 50 pharmacy outlets across ACT, Tasmania and New South Wales, all dedicated to exceptional patient and customer care.
As our Group Operations Manager, you’ll oversee and support the day-to-day operations and performance of multiple pharmacy locations, ensuring our stores consistently meet company standards and deliver outstanding customer experiences. This new role works alongside our CEO and leadership team, providing a unique opportunity to shape operations and set a benchmark for pharmacy excellence.

What You’ll Do (in a nutshell):
1. Operational Leadership: Ensure all stores meet their regulatory requirements while delivering on KPIs and brand standards.
2. Supplier & Inventory Management: Develop and manage supplier relationships, guide pricing, and implement an effective supplier strategy that enhances product availability and supports business goals.
3. Financial Oversight: Work with store managers to analyse financial reports to spot growth opportunities and roll out revenue-driving and cost-saving initiatives.
4. People Management: Coach and mentor store managers, lead group training initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement.
5. Customer Service & Quality Assurance: Uphold our standards for customer care and lead initiatives to enhance service delivery across stores.
6. Marketing & Brand Support: Drive promotional activities, oversee branding, and support store layout and presentation optimisation.
About You
With a strong background in multi-site retail or pharmacy management, you have a track record of driving results and supporting others to excel. You bring:
1. Industry Expertise: Knowledge of pharmacy/retail/pharmaceutical management (or similar) and compliance within healthcare. This includes experience across supplier management and marketing and brand management.
2. People Skills: You are honest, outgoing, and considerate, with the emotional intelligence to build strong, trusting relationships.
3. Operational Savvy: Proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
4. Financial Acumen: Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and strategic analysis.
