As part of the sales team, the process engineers’ function is to support the growth and development of the range of dewatering technologies including Viper. The day-to-day activities will include test work, pilot plant operation, data analysis, and basic process engineering to assist with the sale of these technologies and participate in the process of handing over the project to the operations and full-scale plant commissioning activities team once a job is awarded.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform and/or support the small-scale test work activities for Jord’s range of de-watering technology, including training of internal and external staff to operate at third-party laboratories and preparation of test work reports which underpins Jord’s process performance guarantees.
2. Perform and/or support the commissioning and on-site trials of the pilot plants for Jord’s range of de-watering technology, including training of on-site personnel to operate the equipment and preparation of reports.
3. Provide on-site and/or remote technical support including commissioning support and training for Jord’s range of de-watering technology and/or services.
4. Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and escalate technical or customer issues to management as necessary.
5. Provide input to facilitate technically robust and commercially competitive equipment designs for Jord’s range of de-watering technology, including flow sheet development and equipment selection.
6. Provide technical support to the sales team in securing new business including participation in technical clarification meetings with customers.
7. Participate in the process of handing over the project to the Operations team once a job is awarded.
Skills and Experience:
1. Degree in Metallurgical / Process / Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.
2. Preferred candidates will have at least two years of process engineering experience in the mineral processing industry.
3. Demonstrated experience with laboratory, on-site test work, and/or commissioning of minerals processing plants.
4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with good technical aptitude.
5. Demonstrated abilities to set goals and work effectively to achieve them as part of a team, as well as the leadership skills necessary to lead small teams of both internal and external (including customer) personnel, particularly in an on-site environment.
6. Experience with flowsheet development and equipment sizing & specification for minerals beneficiation technologies in line with major mining and mineral processing client specifications.
7. An understanding of health and safety standards associated with mineral processing operations.
8. A proactive and positive attitude focused on the development of the Company’s business and the support of fellow staff from pre-award to execution and commissioning, working cooperatively and constructively within a culturally diverse team environment.
9. A high degree of mobility, preparedness to travel for extended periods, both regionally and internationally, and the ability to adapt to situations that can be stressful and natural environments that can exhibit extremes in temperature and conditions.
10. Strong written and spoken communication skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
