About the role
In the role of a Disability Support Worker, you will offer personalised, active support to participants with disability. Your responsibilities will vary depending on each client's needs, but prior experience in personal care, manual handling including use of hoist, and behaviour support will be greatly valued. This role is primarily an on-call casual position and will mostly consist of providing coverage during times of staff sick leave and annual leave however you will be part of a 24/7 roster and may also be required to take on a variety of day, afternoon and active overnight shifts ensuring that our support is available whenever it's needed most.
Skills & Experience
* A commitment to supporting and advocating the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disability
* A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 (or willingness to obtain)
* Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (minimum Third Party insurance)
* Access to a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet and ability to use basic technology and software
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
