ABOUT THE ROLE As our Quality Assurance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in upholding and elevating Peter Bouchier's commitment to excellence in food safety. Based at our Head Office in Moorabbin, you'll oversee the full spectrum of food safety operations, from our meat and smallgoods factory and commercial kitchen to our two retail locations. On any given day, you will: Lead food quality and safety across all production and retail sites, ensuring full regulatory compliance. Develop and enhance GMPs and food safety programs, implementing improvements for optimised standards. Conduct hygiene and food safety training tailored to diverse roles, keeping our team aligned with best practices. Maintain the Quality Assurance Manual, product testing schedule, and essential documentation for smooth operations. Ensure equipment calibration, product labeling compliance, and consistent quality control across all locations. Collaborate on new product launches, overseeing process flows, label creation, and technical development. Manage warehouse trials, shelf life validation, and packaging projects, with a focus on sustainability and cost savings. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE We're seeking a Quality Assurance leader with extensive experience in the meat industry. You'll bring: Quality Assurance Expertise: Minimum 5 years in QA, including 3+ years in a senior role (Quality Manager preferred). Relevant Background: Experience as a chef or in food technology within food production or manufacturing. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field is highly regarded. Food Technology Experience: Strong understanding and experience with food, ingredients and the way they interact with each other. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GMP, Primesafe, and cook/chill processes, with proficiency in record-keeping and QA software. Leadership & Problem-Solving: Proven initiative, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, while managing QA portfolios independently. Analytical Skills: Solid judgment and decision-making based on sound data and evidence.
