balance life and workAccess to health and wellbeing initiatives and learning and development opportunitiesEnjoy discounted gym membershipsGenerous personal and carers leaveCustomer First Focus - our community is central to all that we doJoin our Building Services Team and provide exceptional service to the Nillumbik community, through providing approvals, enforcement, monitoring, report and consent and inspection services.As the Asset Protection and Compliance Officer you will be responsible for the delivery of meeting Councils obligations under the Building Act 1993 & Building Regulations 2018, including issuance of building permits and statutory functions.What a typical day will look like;Protecting Council's assets and public safety by ensuring compliance with Council's General Local Law 1, including Development Permits and Road Occupation Permits issued pursuant to Councils Local Law, R116 Permits in relation to the Building Regulations 2018, Road Management Act Consents and other applicable State Legislation requirements.Provision of education and guidance to property owners, occupiers, developers and other members of the public on their obligations pursuant to building site control and asset protection.Identify and proactively monitor works by third parties that may impact upon Councils assets and ensure that these assets are protected through compliance and or obtain rectification of apparent or alleged non-compliance within the requirements of relevant Acts, Regulations, Local Laws and Council standards in relation to building site control and asset protection.Provision of technical and administrative support to the Building Department.To exercise personal judgement within Council standards and respond to requests within agreed and reasonable time frame.Provision of a high level of customer service in line with Council's Vision and Values.Administer and monitor asset protection, conduct inspections of building sites for safety and compliance, assess breaches and public liability, seek rectification, and assist in cost recovery efforts.Provide technical advice, guidance, compliance and enforcement in respect to the Local Law 1.What you will bring to the role;Demonstrates behaviours in line with Council's Values with working with others including colleagues and the community -
