The Client Our client is a fast-growing ASX listed gold explorer and developer.
They are best known for their flagship gold project, located near Leonora in Western Australia which they are advancing to the next level of project development.
The Role Reporting to the Exploration Manager and Principal Geologist, the Senior Geologist will be responsible for leading and supporting high-quality exploration activities.
In this key role, you'll provide strong supervision, mentoring, and expert geological analysis to drive effective targeting strategies.
Your work will play a vital role in advancing the development of existing assets, including responsibility for planning, executing, and interpreting exploration programs.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily exploration activities, including drilling progress, and consult with senior staff as needed.
Supervise, schedule, and support field teams (if necessary) in logging RAB/AC, RC, and diamond core, as well as carrying out sampling, reconnaissance, and geophysical programs.
Ensure geological support functions such as sampling and dispatch are completed to a high standard in collaboration with Project Geologists.
Assist in the preparation of exploration budgets and programs in support of management planning.
Track and manage exploration costs by maintaining accurate records of drilling and field activities to support monthly reporting and invoicing.
Contribute to the completion of periodic reports (weekly, monthly, annual, and Ore Reserve) and ensure high-quality outputs.
Compile and evaluate QA/QC results, discussing findings with senior geologists and contributing to monthly reporting.
Drive new exploration opportunities by analysing geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling data, and actively seeking out valuable data sources Requirements The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Geology (preferably with Honours or a Master's degree) and have at least 5 years relevant exploration or production experience.
You will bring a strong understanding of orogenic gold systems, structural geology, and exploration targeting, along with proven experience managing drill programs, mentoring geological teams, and working within heritage frameworks.
Proficiency in 3D modelling software (preferably Datamine Studio EM/RM) and a willingness to travel to site are also essential.
