Description POSITION SUMMARY The Hotel Accountant will be responsible for checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. They will organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role involves recording, storing, accessing, and analyzing computerized financial information, as well as classifying, coding, and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records. Additionally, the accountant will prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports as required, and complete period-end closing procedures and reports according to the specified timetables. The position requires the preparation, review, reconciliation, and issuance of bills, invoices, and account statements following company procedures. The accountant will also follow up and resolve past-due accounts and vendor invoices until payment is received or resolved. They will prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees and document, maintain, communicate, and act upon any cash variances according to SOPs. The role also includes preparing, maintaining, and administering cashier banks and contracts. The Hotel Accountant must follow all company policies and procedures, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and ensure the confidentiality of proprietary information. They are expected to protect company assets and the privacy and security of both guests and coworkers. Clear and professional communication is essential, including the preparation and review of written documents and answering telephones with appropriate etiquette. The role requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The Hotel Accountant should develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Additionally, they will perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in accounting or finance. Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
