Job Description:
The Darwin Chorale seeks a highly motivated General Manager to drive organisational growth, secure financial support, and expand its operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Partnership Development
* Negotiate and secure sponsorships with corporate entities, local businesses, and community organisations to support the chorale's mission and objectives.
* Identify and initiate strategic partnerships to promote growth and development.
2. Fundraising and Grant Acquisition
* Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure donations from individuals, philanthropic organisations, and community supporters.
* Conduct research and apply for grants that align with the chorale's mission and strategic goals.
* Liaise with funding agencies and sponsors to ensure compliance with reporting and acquittal requirements.
3. Revenue Generation
* Explore and implement new revenue streams and business opportunities to diversify income sources.
* Develop and implement strategies to increase ticket sales for performances and events.
4. Event Planning and Management
* Plan and coordinate special event fundraisers to generate revenue and increase visibility.
* Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of events.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in business development, fundraising, grant writing or a related role.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in managing multiple schedules, budgets, and clients.
* Proven track record of building sound relationships.
* Familiarity with the arts and cultural sector, especially in the Northern Territory.
