As a Senior Clinical/ Forensic Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive support to individuals with complex mental health, social, and legal needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and advocate for participants involved in a unique program.
You will coordinate and monitor services to ensure that clients are referred to appropriate support, engage in therapeutic interventions, and receive tailored assistance to help them achieve their goals.
The role will involve working with a forensic case load so exposure to the criminal justice service is a must.
This is a 2 year contract position based in Logan on the Gold Coast of Queensland.
Key Duties:
* Provide culturally responsive psychological and psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and consultations to meet the needs of individuals who are experiencing significant mental health conditions, have a history of offending, and face challenges related to complex trauma and visa insecurity. * We will create evidence-based safety plans and provide follow-up support, referrals, and treatment. This includes conducting alcohol and drug assessments, neuropsychological assessments, and mental health evaluations.
* Perform risk assessments, including evaluations of suicide and violence risks, develop evidence-based safety plans, and provide follow-up support, referrals, and treatment.
* Provision of alcohol and drug assessment, neuropsychological assessment and mental health reports as required.
Skills and Experience:
* 1-2 years Senior Psychologist level experience.
* Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) status, with specialist skills in supporting people with mental health conditions.
* Proven ability to build strong professional relationships and work with diverse populations.
* Experience with multicultural clients and the justice system is highly desirable.
* Ability to manage crisis situations, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
