About The Royal Children's Hospital
The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children's Campus, partnering with Murdoch Children's Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided, including tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas.
Job Description
This is a fixed term full time position at 76 hours per fortnight for 12 months within the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne (The RCH). You will be responsible for working with key stakeholders and leaders of research, education and services across the Melbourne Children's Campus to lead the development of a detailed 5-year Service Plan for Wadja Aboriginal Family Place and The RCH.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development of a 5-year Service Plan to support the provision of culturally safe care in The RCH for children, young people and their families with a team from Wadja Aboriginal Family Place, RCH Executive, Department Leads and local Aboriginal Community.
* Identification of the medical, social and emotional wellbeing needs for children, young people and their families at The RCH who engage with Wadja Aboriginal Family Place and other medical, nursing and allied health services across the hospital.
* Lead the co-design and development of the Service Plan, outlining the project objectives including problem statement, project scope, key performance indicators, risk management and measurement and reporting framework.
* Lead the implementation of the project plan with the team, responding flexibly to needs within the project and developing practical solutions and provide advice in area of expertise.
* Foster a culture that encourages effective working relationships and commitment to high standards of service.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or significant relevant industry experience.
* Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families, and services.
* Experience working in partnership with diverse stakeholders in health system development and quality.
* Experience in project management, leadership in program/project planning implementation across multiple projects and organisations.
About The Department
This position is funded by The RCH Foundation as part of the Melbourne Children's Campus (Campus) Mental Health Strategy 2021 – 2026 (Mental Health Strategy).
The overall objective of the Mental Health Strategy is for the Campus to deliver uniform and evidence-based infant, child and adolescent mental health care and prevention supported by education and research to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families.
