About the role:
The role will be a full-time police officer position within theSouth Australia Police. You will be joining a team who truly makesa difference enabling safer communities in South Australia. Training with SAPOL will be undertaken at the SA PoliceAcademy at Taperoo. Training will combine academic studies in law,policy and procedure with practical and physical training.
After successfully completing your training you will be part ofa team who provide frontline services to the community, which willinclude mobile patrols to prevent and detect crime, maintaining lawand order and undertaking an active role in traffic policing androad safety campaigns.
Some of the key tasks you will perform in this role include:
6. Preventing, detecting and Investigating offences in areas such as street offences, family violence, traffic, drugs and alcohol.
7. Securing and examining crime scenes and accidents to locate and obtain evidence.
8. Maintaining public
9. General Patrolsin identified areas to minimise the potential for public disturbance and crime.
10. Investigating accidents, crimes, minor offences and public complaints, gathering evidence and investigating, arresting and interviewing suspects.
11. Testing persons suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and issuing infringement notices for traffic offences.
12. Directing and controlling traffic at congested areas.
13. Attending at community engagement events.
14. Providing advice and assistance to victims of crime and their families.
15. Maintaining records and preparing reports.
16. Attending court.

Upon permanent appointment the rate of remuneration will bebased on an assessment of prior service. Recruits withdemonstrated police experience may be appointed at a levelcommensurate with their expertise, up to the rank of SeniorConstable. The expected salary range will be $90,000-$130,000(includes 21% shift penalties and allowances) depending onexperience and classification.

To serve as a South Australian Police Officer, you must be:
17. 18 years or older at the time of application
18. An Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
19. able to meet medical, fitness and psychometric requirements
20. able to complete operational training and be willing to carry and use operational safety equipment, including a firearm.
