Geotechnical Business Development Engineer Menard Oceania is a design and construct specialist geotechnical contractor offering expertise in ground improvement and reinforcement for sites with poor soils.Its treatments eliminate the need for the deep foundations traditionally used to support surface structures.Our scope includes small to large infrastructure-based solutions across a broad range of market segments for private and public stakeholders, including Transport, Dams, Ports and Coastal Infrastructure, Industrial and Commercial Buildings, Heavy Industry and Mining.Due to the growth of our business and an expanded portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our team.This role will report to the Regional Manager – Southern Region based in Melbourne.Key responsibilities: Search tenders and opportunities.Receive and digest engineering drawings and requests for tender.Prepare detailed geotechnical cost estimations for tenders and other incoming project opportunities.Prepare clear offer letters addressing both practical and technical solutions.Show commitment to learn and grow in this role with the eventual aim to operate independent operations.Initially respond to construct-only solutions, with the aim to grow in understanding and capability of Menard's solutions, hence being able to offer design and construct solutions.Build relations with suppliers and clients to support cost estimation of projects.Manage the Cost Estimations library, working towards simplification and effectiveness.Build up a solid understanding of geotechnical solutions in areas such as ground improvement, ground reinforcement, foundations, and retaining walls. Minimum requirements: Degree qualified as a Geotechnical Engineer or Civil Engineer with a very keen interest in geotechnical engineering.6+ years' experience in civil/geotechnical engineering with a preference of 2 years in Business Development.Current network within South Australia will be preferred.A demonstrated passion for working in the geotechnical engineering discipline with a strong interest in ground improvement technologies.Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail within estimations as well as report writing.The ability to work independently is an inherent requirement for this role.
