About This Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated person to join the professional staff team within the School of Communication and Arts to experience working in a large and dynamic school at UQ. This position is responsible for managing the School's teaching and student administration team and oversees the processes that enable the School to meet its key objectives in the areas of teaching and learning. Key responsibilities will include: Provide advice and support to key stakeholders on rules, policies, and procedures related to Teaching and Learning and academic programs. Lead and manage the student and teaching administration team, ensuring effective workload distribution, staff development, and the implementation of new policies, procedures, and systems. Manage curriculum changes, ensuring compliance with UQ policies and accreditation requirements, including preparing Board of Studies submissions. Oversee the provision of accurate advice to students regarding academic programs, courses, and performance, while managing relevant student administration processes. This is a full-time, fixed-term position /secondment opportunity until 7 March 2025 at HEW Level 7. About You Completion of an undergraduate degree, with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Relevant administrative experience in a tertiary education institution, including a minimum of two years at an intermediate level successfully managing staff to achieve effective outcomes. Strong knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn University policies, procedures, and information systems related to student and academic administration. Excellent communication skills with the ability to draft detailed reports and submissions. High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in developing and reviewing administrative systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and promoting a collaborative, values-driven work environment.
