Our consortium, which includes Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild, is leveraging metro rail expertise to deliver this city-shaping project under a Public-Private Partnership model, This will provide significant economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
The Electrical Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all high voltage and low voltage electrical switching operations for the Webuild Electrical Distribution System on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport.
You will manage the Electrical Network Safety Management system and ensure all overall safety of Electrical Distribution system and adherence to processes and procedures detailed in the Safety Management Plan.
This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, including the switching, isolation, and commissioning of electrical equipment, in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
The manager will supervise the team responsible for performing electrical switching activities, ensuring that work is carried out safely, minimizing risks, and maintaining operational continuity.
Qualifications: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical switching, operations, or maintenance in high voltage environments (preferably 11kV, 33kV, 66kV, 132kV, or higher).
Previous experience in 25kV AC Traction Power system.
Experience in managing high voltage electrical systems, including commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting.
Previous supervisory or managerial experience in high voltage electrical operations is preferred.
Knowledge of electrical switching in both utility and industrial environments is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of high voltage electrical systems, equipment, and switching operations.
Familiarity with electrical protection schemes, fault analysis, and safety systems.
Proficiency in electrical testing and commissioning practices, including commissioning high voltage equipment.
Experience with electrical switching software and control systems is beneficial.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise, motivate, and train a diverse team of technical staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues.
Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations, ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical systems.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety in all aspects of operations.
