These trainees are really important to us; they motivate us to provide an excellent learning environment for the 3 - 4 years they are in our care.
We support them through their journey both in their study and their development.
This PD describes the 'outcomes' required of the Tutor.
It is not a prescriptive set of tasks, more what we want you to achieve.
How you achieve these outcomes may vary from Apprentice to Apprentice, Tutor to Tutor and region to region.Job PurposeTo support student learning and achievement through effective transfer of knowledge, course facilitation and student assessment.Key ResponsibilitiesCourse Delivery, Assessment and Development Deliver and assess Company approved courses, delivered in block courses and day release formats.Ensure use of recommended course materials.Prepare the training center for the delivery and assessment of approved courses.Complete marking of student work to set deadlines.Provide back-up support for night classes and other courses required/approved for the region.Support in the continuous development of learning and teaching courses.Student SupportProvide coaching, guidance, advice and support to students.Monitor student achievements and results and provide timely and accurate information to students, Learning Support Managers / Learning Managers and Apprentice Mentors.Training Center MaintenanceSupport Learning Manager to maintain the Training Centre facilities and resources.Liaise with the Learning Manager for any immediate requirement needed (resources, tools etc.)
for students.Assist with workshop maintenance as required.RelationshipsInternal - Apprenticeship Mentors, Regional Administrators, Tutors.External - Students, Industry representatives, Hosts, Electrical companies to network.Wellbeing, Safety & HealthProactive engagement, role modelling and promotion of well-being, safety and health practices that enable positive improvements within the work environment.Compliance with Etco Wellbeing, Safety and Health (WSH) Policies and Procedures and legislative requirements.Understand and adhere to the designated WSH responsibilities for employees.Take reasonable care of your own well-being, safety and health as well as that of others.Monitor and raise potential well-being, safety and health issues and keep the Etco WSH team appraised of such observations and discussions.Report all incidents and accidents within the timeframes as determined by Etco's WSH Policy.Desired Skills And ExperienceTechnical Competencies, Experience and QualificationsNZ Electrical Registration (Full Practicing License, Inspectors Licence or Electrical Engineering Degree or similar) is a must.Extensive practical experience in the Electrical Industry.Proven working experience in Adult Tertiary Teaching or Training is desirable, but we can support and develop you in this area.Excellent knowledge of learning theories and student engagement.
Lesson and curriculum planning skills is a plus.Prior people management or supervisory experience.Proficient in Microsoft systems (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint etc.
).Tutor Competency Framework & DevelopmentUnit Standard 4098 – agree within one month of employment to enroll in the Unit Standard 4098 course with a view to complete and qualify within 6 months of employment.Discuss personal development plan with the Learning Manager bi-annually. #J-18808-Ljbffr
