In the role of Advisor (Operational Safety) you will perform a frontline advisory and support role to managers and operational staff within the Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD) division of TMR, providing work health and safety (WHS) advice and support.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
1. Support and assist with the local implementation of operational safety content, through the delivery of informal onsite training / education, coordination of trials, consultation and monitoring of the effectiveness of onsite safety with workers.
2. Support the identification, planning and delivery of operational initiatives and WHS KPIs targeting improvements in local organisational capability.
3. Lead and support effective incident reporting and investigation; and audits in accordance with established TMR and IMD procedures and methodologies.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
4. Current ‘C' class driver's licence.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
5. University degree or other tertiary qualification/equivalent qualification (e.g. Diploma) in work health and safety
6. Proven experience in operational health and safety practices in the civil construction industry, including frontline engagement and surveillance, monitoring of compliance and performance, and the development of frontline organisational capability
7. Proven experience in safety orientated coaching and mentoring of field staff across various civil construction product streams.
8. Proven experience in incident investigation within the civil construction industry and exposure to critical risk in a civil environment.
