Collaborate closely with Operations and General Management to drive projects and achieve strategic goals, contributing to the success of Paradise Country and Village Roadshow Theme Parks. Your day to day: • Ensure all animal training and conditioning programs are developed and implemented.• Display exceptional zoo-based husbandry knowledge for a variety of domestic animals & wildlife species in accordance with legislation.• Collaborate with the Operations Manager & General Manager to write divisional financial budget allocations, manage divisional staffing levels and assess matrix reviews to enable the division to operate smoothly and within budget guidelines.• Represent Paradise Country as required through associated industry groups and responsible for maintaining accreditation standards.• Manage team members to efficiently run department & create and maintain a positive work environment.• Thorough understanding of the Zoo Industry and ZAAQ (Zoos & Aquariums Queensland) legislation. What you'll bring: • Demonstrated experience in working with Australian Native Wildlife and Exotic Wildlife in a supervisory role is essential.• Certificate III and IV – Captive Animals (or equivalent) is a requirement.• A Degree in Wildlife Science, advantageous.• Advanced knowledge of enclosure design and maintenance for a variety of native wildlife species.• Experience in leading a team and maximising performance.• Manual Driver's licence is an advantage.• Demonstrated experience handling a variety of animals.• Koala handling experience and training essential.
