About Us… Sky High Healthcare is the Social Enterprise of Jack's Butterflies, who is a registered charity with the ACNC, an NDIS registered service provider and a Rare Voices partner providing advocacy and support for children and their families affected by a life-limiting Rare Diseases. At Sky High Healthcare, we employ Cleaners, Support Workers, High Intensity Support Workers, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses providing in-home support, community access, short term accommodation and respite care. About the Role We are looking for multiple people to join our incredible team of passionate, dedicated and hard working individuals. The number of hours per week available is dependent on your availability. There is a range of shifts available and include in-home support, community participation, active overnight, transport to and from school, transport to appointments, support for 2:1 requirements to do hydrotherapy, weekend support, STA rosters (range of locations).**Registered Nurse Uni Students and people with High Intensive Training will be HIGHLY REGARDED AND ENCOURANGED TO APPLY** Responsibilities Not every client has the same requirements and each client has their own way of doing things. The biggest asset you can posses, is the ability to not assume you know how to do it from your own experience, but the ability to use your knowledge as a starting base to learn and adapt to your new clients. Provide personal care to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with showering toileting, dressing and grooming. Assist with in-home support, including general housework, cooking and cleaning. Utilise manual handling techniques, to support individuals with mobility impairments. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of client progress and behaviours. Ensure medication is taken on time and correctly, and monitor medication schedules. Facilitate community access, including accompanying clients to appointments, activities and events. For our clients requiring HIGH INTENSITY SUPPORT, further responsibilities include: Seizure Management - The ability to identify seizure activity, manage appropriately and record accurately. Pain Management - The ability to identify the differences between pain / dystonic / seizure episodes/activity and respond accordingly. Respiratory Management - using oxygen concentrator or bottles oxygen to ensure client is maintaining approved oxygen levels with using a patient monitor as well as using visual signs to notice respiratory distress. Secretion Management - suctioning, using a cough assist machine and/or chest physio techniques to encourage coughing to clear airway. Complex Bowel Management - use of enemas, Enteral feeding - gravity or pump feeding and venting through the PEG as directed. Ensure stoma site is kept dry and clean and document/escalate any concerns appropriately.
