And we've been doing it for over 170 years.If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.This role is pivotal in leading the risk management function of Group Treasury in a Line 1 capacity, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities essential for fostering strong relationships with subsidiary and Group Boards, as well as relevant regulators.By owning Line 1 risk, the position will oversee controls, processes, and governance across all Treasury activities. This includes comprehensive analytical, modelling, reporting, and policy determination functions within Asset & Liability Management. The role is crucial for managing risks within appetite, ensuring that controls are effectively designed and operational, and maintaining compliance with all relevant obligations.How you will make an impactSupport the Group Treasury team in defining, calibrating, monitoring, and managing key balance sheet risk appetite settings by collaborating with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and business partners, focusing on governance, forecasting, liquidity, and capital management initiatives.Maintain a strong understanding of best practices in process management and governance for Treasury's control framework, ensuring continuous improvement and effective documentation, testing, and monitoring of controls to mitigate risks, particularly in response to regulatory changes.Align the Group's financial plans and forecasts with risk appetite settings to ensure financial resilience for the AMP Group.Oversee and monitor key financial analyses, risk appetite metrics, and ratios that influence significant financial decisions at the executive and board levels.Ensure accuracy and completeness of governance processes while adhering to prudential regulations.Design and document efficient controls that support compliance with obligations.Lead the development and execution of control testing plans and risk deep dives across Treasury to ensure an effective control environment, while actively monitoring the risk profile, including Key Risk Indicators and the Annual Risk Management Declaration (RMD) process.Provide risk, compliance, and control information to the risk forum, Board, and Committees, while delivering training to improve awareness and understanding of compliance plans across the business.What you will bring to the roleUndergraduate level degree in a finance related or economics-based discipline preferred10+ years' experience within the financial services sector within a regulated institution or the finance function within other industries preferredEssential RequirementsRobust understanding and experience with controls, including the ability to design, implement, and monitor effective frameworks, and enhance operational effectivenessExcellent understanding of best practice risk management concepts with demonstrated experience.Ability to design, implement, and monitor effective control frameworks ensuring that risk management practices align with organisational goals.Proven experience influencing stakeholders at all levels and presenting to senior executives.Although not essential, this experience is highly preferredTreasury experience in financial forecasting, liquidity, and cash flow management as well as funding and capital managementUnderstanding of statutory and management accounting concepts.Experience managing a small team demonstrating leadership capabilities and fostering a collaborative work environmentWe are looking for candidates with outstanding analytical skills, capable of conducting detailed financial modeling and balance sheet analysis, along with a solid understanding of financial concepts.
