Ipswich West Special School is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Business Manager to join our dynamic team. The Business Manager will oversee the financial, operational, and administrative functions of the school. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources. As the Business Services Manager, you will work alongside the Principal to deliver a range of corporate services. You will manage the timely delivery of organisational executive and administrative support; frequently identify opportunities to adapt processes; and provide supervision of the support staff workforce.

Ipswich West Special School is a Prep to Yr12 school that caters for students with intellectual disabilities. Our focus is on Positive Behaviour for Learning with our school rules being: safe, respectful, learner. For students in Prep – Year 10, we deliver the Australian Curriculum using students' Curriculum Plans to guide their individual educational needs. Students in senior schooling access Certificate 1 level Vocational Courses, and Year 11 and 12 students have curriculum plans developed to achieve the Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement.
About the Role:
As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing corporate services and administrative support to the Principal.
Responsibilities include:
* Work within well-defined guidelines to provide advice and offer solutions to key stakeholders on business-related problems (e.g., human resources, finance, and facilities management).
* Provide support and leadership in the provision of a range of executive and administrative support services, interpret departmental policies, and oversee training and professional development for school support staff.
* Contribute to financial planning processes including developing, planning, monitoring, and reviewing the annual school budget, regularly reporting to the school management team.
* Provide facilities management advice and project management, evaluate new work and renovation projects in collaboration with the Principal, and manage and review the Minor Works and grounds maintenance budgets.
