Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience 8+ years professional experience in land development, commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial site-civil design and remediation with working knowledge of civil engineering conventional practices. The Data Center Global Services (DCGS) team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive Civil Engineer to drive design and construction in a client-side technical lead role for the delivery of our enterprise data center campus projects. As a Civil Engineer, you will work directly with our Real Estate, Design and Construction teams within your assigned region. You will be the engineering representative on behalf of the Data Center Engineering Team responsible for the successful delivery of projects, which meet strict quality and performance levels. Utilizing your Civil Engineer knowledge, you will assist in data center site selection, preparation of due diligence reports, undertake site planning and development and play a pivotal role in the delivery of data center environments regionally. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. The DCGS business requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. You must be able to work within a team and depend on others to accomplish the required tasks. This includes working with many of the internal groups within Amazon as well as external consultants and developers. Key job responsibilities: This is a client-side role, and you will be working closely with the whole team to ensure quality engineering solutions are delivered within tight time frames. Collaborate with internal and external multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are integrated and aligned with project goals. Lead early work civil design packages for mega-campus Data Centre projects across Asia Pacific. Work autonomously to review and analyze site due diligence documentation, and develop and implement the civil design strategy for new sites in the region. As a Civil Designer, you will utilize your solid knowledge and expertise in Civil 3 D design software to prepare comprehensive 3 D models and 2 D drawings to develop land for our mega-campus Data Centers. You will analyze external consultant civil designs, reports, planning documents and provide comprehensive support to AWS Data Centers from site due diligence and design development to construction completion. Identify, develop, and implement automation to standardize civil design development and delivery processes across Asia Pacific, and contribute to innovative initiatives in AWS. Be familiar with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) civil regulations and permitting processes. A day in the life: Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Collaboration with international teams is essential, and you may need to travel for workshops to develop schematic and detailed design documentation packages.
