Position Overview: We're seeking a dedicated support worker for a casual role, with the exciting potential to transition to a part-time position after a successful probation period. You'll be working 40 to 60 hours a fortnight, with each shift lasting a minimum of 6 hours and enjoying 7 days off every fortnight. As a Support Worker in Shepparton, you'll join a skilled team at a Supported Independent Living Residential House. Your role will involve assisting clients with daily living activities, managing complex behavioural and physical care needs, and providing compassionate care with manual handling and medication assistance. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to a regular roster, including weekends and active nights. Assist clients with daily activities: medication administration, personal care, domestic duties, meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, and community access. Follow care plans and procedures meticulously. Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reports. Engage in supervision and ongoing training. Ensure compliance with work practices and uphold client confidentiality. Perform additional duties as required. Essential Skills and Traits: Deep empathy and a genuine passion for caring. Experience with Prada Willi Syndrome and peg feeding is highly regarded. Proficiency in non-verbal communication and manual handling tasks. Strong collaborative skills within a team setting. Experience with medication administration and hoisting. Excellent personal care skills, including showering and toileting. Strong time-management, reliability, and punctuality. Ability to handle challenging environments with resilience. Experience & Qualifications: Certificate IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, Nursing, or equivalent. A Nursing qualification (both RN and ENs are highly desirable). Minimum of 1-year full-time experience in Australia within Health/Aged Care/Disability Services. Licenses & Certifications: Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (required). NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or ability to obtain one (required). Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or ability to obtain one (required). Administration of Medication certification (preferred). Current Driver's License, own car, and comprehensive/third-party insurance (preferred). Working with Children's Check (Employee) or ability to obtain one (preferred).
