The City of Mandurah is looking for people who areself-motivated, reliable and has a positive can-do attitude tokick-start their career in the horticultural trade.
As an apprentice you will complete a nationally recognisedqualification (AHC31021 Certificate III in Parks and Gardens) whilegaining practical knowledge and skills in horticulture such asgarden bed and lawn maintenance, cultivating soil, fertilising,planting, operating tools, pruning, weeding and constructing gardenbeds, paths and fences.
What does the ideal candidate bring to City ofMandurah?
School leavers: OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 Non-school leavers: C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or a completion of a Certificate II in a related discipline Genuine interest in the horticultural trade Current unrestricted C class national driver's licence Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks High level of attention to detail Self-motivated and keen to learn Ability to problem solve Be a confident communicator Ability to follow instructions and take direction from Team Leader/Supervisor A strong team player Basic knowledge of horticultural tools Reliable and hardworking Computer skills with the ability to operate software programs, tablets and mobile devices Ability to organise own work and apply time management principles The finer details This fulltime position attracts a starting salary of $30,134gross per annum for a junior or $50,224 gross per annum for anadult.
The apprenticeship is 3 years in duration and islocated at the Council's Operations Centre on ParkRoad.
