Fixed Term, full-time appointment (12 months) Level 8/9: $115,890 - $143,786 + 17% Superannuation Wollongong location with hybrid/flexible working arrangements About the Role The Research Services Office (RSO), within the Research & Sustainable Futures Division is the central coordination point for all University research information systems and analytics, research grants, fellowships, commercial and contract research, and faculty research operations. An exciting opportunity exists to join our team as Senior Data & Analytics Engineer. In this project lead role, you will have the opportunity to design and build a data model that will streamline reporting across our suite of research management systems. Reporting to the Associate Director, Research Analytics & Systems, this position will play a pivotal role in transforming data processes and shaping the future of our data strategy. It requires expertise in data architecture, integration, data ingestion and transformation processes, multidimensional modelling, project management and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain data products by leveraging technical expertise, stakeholder influence, and domain knowledge to build robust reporting solutions, ensure data security and quality, manage metadata, and oversee end-to-end data processing. Support the delivery and adoption of data and analytics solutions through appropriate project management, governance processes and consultation with relevant stakeholders. Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance by offering platform-agnostic advice, collaborating with technical teams to support reporting, data warehousing, and major initiatives and staying informed of industry trends. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to capture requirements and ensure accurate, scalable, and well-structured information for analysis, reporting, and data product accessibility. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate internal and external data sources, creating a unified and comprehensive view of our organisation’s research data. About you With a relevant degree and extensive experience, your strong interpersonal and project management expertise enables you to consult with stakeholders, translate business needs into robust solutions, and deliver outstanding customer service within agreed timeframes. Your expertise in data analytics and skills in SQL, Python, ETL processes, and cloud technologies will see you excel in this position.
