Job Description:Australian Citizens residing in Australia with the ability to obtain Baseline Clearance only respond.Contract start 07 August 2023 to 12 months, with 2 x 12 months extensions.Australian Citizen, Ability to obtain Baseline Clearance, Canberra, Offsite role.The Enterprise Analytics and Technology Services (EATS) section in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) are looking for Azure Platform Engineers who have experience in managing cloud hosted infrastructure using infrastructure as code in support of data and analytics workloads.The roles will be responsible for the detailed solution design, development, and implementation of infrastructure in Azure in support of data and analytics workloads. These outcomes are delivered using an infrastructure as code deployment model using Terraform. The successful candidate will require experience with the following platforms and technology:Azure hosted Data and Analytics Platforms such as:Data LakeSQL DatabasesSynapse AnalyticsAzure security features such as:NetworkingIdentity and Access ManagementPolicyInfrastructure as CodeTerraform based infrastructure managementInfrastructure as a Service hosted platformsArcGIS EnterpriseVirtual Machine hosted servicesDesirable: Experience with legacy data technology solutions such as Oracle, Ingres, SQL Server, Wintel Server Network file shares.Initial contract period is 12 months. Preference is for candidates to hold a valid negative vetting level 1 security clearance.Every application requires addressing selection criteria as part of the application submission:Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud hosted platforms and services (Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service) - 25%Experience developing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure using an infrastructure as code (IaC) approach - 25%Understanding of cloud security features for platforms and services such as Identity and Access Management, Networking and Policy - 20%Experience working in Data and Analytics focused projects (Data Engineering, Storage or Data Science) - 15%Working with multi-disciplinary teams using an Agile methodology - 15%Additional Experience:Experience working with Data LakeExperience working with Geospatial platforms
