To provide a safe and secure site during events, working with the Operations team during the Concerts series and Tattoo period.This is a temporary position from 24 June – 29 August 2025.
Your normal working week is a minimum of 23 hours during off-peak periods, up to 38 hours during event periods.
Shifts will be allocated on a rota basis between 10:00-23:30 daily Monday to Saturday.
You may be required to work additional (paid) hours in excess of this.
You will be working on a rota basis, with an emphasis more on the evenings during the Concerts series and Tattoo period, whilst during non-show days, your hours will be skewed more towards daytime working.While also providing assistance to the wider staff during the busy event period, the successful candidates will require a positive and flexible approach to the tasks requested of them.Key Duties:Ensure rest areas are set up and ready for use and locked at the end of the evening.Assist in the maintenance and positioning of equipment and stores across the venue.Operate the General Assistant (GA) van in the movement of equipment and stock from Head Office to the Esplanade.Support contractor and staff requests for general assistance.Communicate with the Multi Agency Communications Centre (MACC) in the event of an emergency.Be polite, welcoming, friendly, and ready to help.Assist with various ad hoc tasks as required from the Operations team.Address general enquiries, undertake general runner duties, and ensure the space is kept clean and tidy.Positive and flexible attitude.Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.Ability to follow instruction.Ability to lift and move items in line with the training provided.Full and clean driving licence.Confident driving in Edinburgh city centre.Based at: 1-3 Cockburn Street and The Edinburgh Castle ArenaRate of Pay: £12.60 per hourPlease visit our website for the full role description and details on how to apply!The deadline is Sunday 30 March 2025 at 23:55.
