That’s refreshing.This role is accountable for the leadership of the Network Control and Operations Response functions for the distribution electricity & gas networks, ensuring safe and effective customer-focused network operations, facilitating the delivery of approved works programs, and managing fault restoration activities.This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:Lead the function of Gas and Electricity Distribution Network Control and Operations in relation to safe and timely network security decisions, work coordination, operational switching, and access to the network to ensure effective safe program delivery.Overseeing the monitoring, control, and response functions of the 24/7 Gas and Electricity Distribution to maintain operational continuity across the Gas and Electricity Distribution networks.Future-proofing the control team by ensuring they have the skills and capabilities to manage the increasing complexity of the network, while integrating advanced technologies into control rooms to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.Driving improved network performance through strategic outage planning, control, and response to enhance efficiency and reliability.Define and execute strategies across the department to achieve a safe, cost-efficient, productive, and engaged workforce.Drive a culture of learning and continuous improvement, including fostering a constructive culture, employee engagement, and high-performing teams.Engage and influence AusNet Services stakeholders to understand and focus on and be accountable for the commercial outcomes associated with the various incentive schemes, maximizing incentive outcomes per annum.Ensure that the changing face of electricity generation / DER is factored into the future strategy of the business and operational planning (e.g., skills and technology requirements).Assist in the development of the business plan and capability vision (Digital, People, Process) for the team, developing the department’s strategy delivering in accordance with the business plans for the business and division.You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:Experience in a regulated environment with a strong operational management background within Utilities, including leadership in high-pressure, real-time operations.Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams through cultural transformation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation capabilities across all organizational levels.Contemporary approach to health, safety, and well-being, going beyond basic compliance standards.Demonstrated experience in implementing operational and productivity improvements in complex environments, with a focus on project, budget, and resource management.Strategic thinker with the ability to understand and implement business objectives, while maintaining strong commercial acumen.Experience in regulated environments, with knowledge of compliance, performance standards, and incentive schemes associated with Gas and Electricity Distribution networks.Incident management experience and proven ability to manage crises effectively.A real place to belong.We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives, and diversity in our team.
