Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians.
About the Role
The Team Leader External Works sits within Barwon South West Grampians and is responsible for managing the risks associated with third parties proposing to and conducting works on or near the regional transport network.
The role will ensure that activity conducted by third parties is safe and in accordance with DTP standards and will provide high quality advice to developers.
Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
High Quality Advice – The Team Leader External Works has provided high quality and expert advice to third party development stakeholders, through early and active engagement with this important stakeholder group. Project Delivery – Ensured that the team has effectively monitored third party development on the network, ensuring work is completed in accordance with DTP design standards and community expectations. Risk Management – Effectively identified and managed any risks related to third party works and developments on the transport network through design reviews, working site visits and post completion inspections. Effective Site Surveillance – The team has conducted high quality surveillance activities on third party development work sites to ensure works meet the approved standards and are conducted safely, with minimal disruption. Effective People Leadership – The incumbent has provided effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required. Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations. In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities. Key Selection Criteria

Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline. Construction experience. Role Specific Requirements
Victorian Drivers License. Ordinary Hours of Work – This position may be required to undertake shift work which could include Saturday, Sunday or evening work and occasional overnight travel. Culture Value
