About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with experience across large projects, $100M and above. The successful person will be involved in large scale projects in Adelaide from tender to project completion.
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
1. Manage the Commercial risks and opportunities across our projects and tenders and ensure any issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner
2. Assist in the management of contractual and commercial disputes and where applicable, the co-ordination and direction to the Business Unit’s legal counsel and liaison with insurance representatives. Attend and assist in commercial resolution with clients, contractors or consultants as applicable
3. Prepare internal management and dispute status reports
4. Overview and critique tender submissions for exposure to adverse terms and conditions including detailed and follow-up internal reviews, front end negotiations with prospective clients as required so as to achieve acceptable contractual close out
5. Assist in the preparation of subcontractor and consultant contract forms ensuring appropriate forms and commercial terms are duly incorporated and provide advice accordingly
6. Assist in the preparation and development of joint venture documentation, pre-bid agreements and MOUs on an as needs basis
7. Provide advice and information to projects on contractual and commercial matters including compliance with contract documents, legislation and Australian or relevant Standards.
About You
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
8. Relevant Tertiary qualifications
9. At least 5 years previous experience in a similar role within large infrastructure projects
10. An expert communicator, you will be results focussed with a fantastic commercial acumen
11. Well-developed organisational and coordination skills with a demonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage tasks under pressure and to tight deadlines
12. Strong leadership and the ability to consult with a range of stakeholders from clients to peers
13. Demonstrated ability to determine the best course of action to achieve appropriate and measurably improved results within the business
14. Experienced in identifying commercial risks across a range of projects and sectors in civil infrastructure and demonstrate planned rectification methods
15. Prior experience working as a Commercial or Contracts Manager for a head contractor
