We're seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our growing team at Wotton + Kearney.

The role

Join our national Finance team at Wotton + Kearney and contribute to the success of Australia's leading insurance and risk law firms. As a Financial Accountant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.
In this role, you will:
* Preparation and responsibility for month end journals and roll over, including but not limited to prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, revenue.
* Preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS returns.
* Reconciliation of credit cards, review coding of expenses and journal reclasses as required.
* Preparation of FBT return and responsibility to liaise with the external tax accountants for lodgement.
* Support the Finance Manager in preparation of monthly management accounts and monthly commentary on the results.
* Prepare and manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Manage the firm’s fixed asset register and chart of accounts.
* Support Finance Manager to complete year-end processes and audit work papers in line with firm guidelines and timetable.
* Support Finance Manager to assist with any annual tax return processes and workpapers in line with firm guidelines and timetable.
* Support the Finance Manager and Financial Controller with the annual budget process.
* Prepare daily cashflow report and forecast to be distributed to the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
* Completion of Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys.
* Review and sign off daily office payments and trust payments.
* Assist periodically with the trust account processes.
* Any other tasks as required.
To be successful, you will have:
* CA or CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
* Good understanding of tax compliance issues.
* Minimum of 3 years (post qualification) relevant experience in a professional services environment. (business services or tax)
* Experience using a financial management software such as Aderant Expert or Elite 3E.
* Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex reconciliation issues.
* Strong Excel skills including the use of pivot tables, complex formulas and large datasets.
* Worked at fast moving/high paced environments.
* Ability to communicate accounting information internally to partners and staff, and externally to professional accounting firms.
* Possess the personal and professional presence, integrity, business ethics and credibility to
