Our client is looking for a Human Resources (HR) & Payroll Manager to deliver and optimise both functions across APAC while supporting managers and employees.
The Opportunity:Lead the full spectrum of the employee journey, from onboarding through to exits, including workforce changes such as restructures and probation outcomes.Coordinate the annual performance and remuneration cycle, including salary reviews, executive approvals, and formal documentation-ensuring updates flow through to systems and payroll.Supervise the payroll process across four international regions, verifying accuracy and alignment with employment changes.Drive the rollout of a new HR platform and oversee migration of payroll operations for AU/NZ into the new system.Deliver a broad range of people-focused initiatives from compliance and internal communications to compensation, policy, and employee support.Provide managers with practical guidance on people policies, workplace matters and HR protocols to support strong, compliant decision-making.Support the overall execution of HR operations and initiatives that align with business priorities.Address workforce-related concerns, offering timely and strategic resolutions.Draft, refine, and implement organisational policies that align with legal standards and operational needs, reducing risk and disruption.Ensure talent capability is met through workforce planning, staff development, and recruitment efforts.Foster a positive workplace culture by proactively managing performance and resolving disputes efficiently.Design and implement HR initiatives that directly support broader business goals.Represent the people function at regular cross-portfolio leadership meetings.Take on additional tasks and projects as business needs evolve.The Person:Exposure to HR operations and/or payroll in South Korea is essential for this role.Hold or be able to attain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.Proven experience in people and culture leadership with a strong foundation in Australian employment frameworks.Demonstrated capability managing multi-country payroll operations, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea is a highly advantageous.Korean speaking is highly advantageous, but not essential if you have exposure to HR operations in South Korea.A natural collaborator who can align people initiatives with organisational goals.Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset-able to translate business needs into practical HR actions.Highly driven with a focus on quality execution, continuous improvement, and lasting outcomes.Why you should apply:This role offers the chance to shape it from the ground up-bring fresh ideas, streamline processes, and make a real impact.Join a business in its early stages where your contributions will directly influence its growth and direction.Work in a close-knit, collaborative team where relationships matter and everyone knows each other.Enjoy the freedom to own projects, take initiative, and see your work make a visible difference.If this sounds like the right next role for you, we highly advise you apply.
