The Roles The PTA is committed to managing its business activities in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.Working across the organisation, our Environmental Services Branch strives to drive positive environmental and social outcomes for current and future generations.We value our contribution to the community and are looking for two environmental professionals who share the same values to join our team.In these roles you will be contributing to the operation of public transport services on rail, coach, buses, and ferries, as well as the delivery of major infrastructure projects.Environment Advisor We are recruiting an Environment Advisor to join our Project Delivery Support team.The Environment Advisor provides professional environmental support to the Environmental Manager and Principal Environment Advisor during the construction of major projects.The successful applicant will undertake environmental site inspections and assist to investigate environmental incidents, identify environmental risks, and develop controls for their mitigation and progress improvement initiatives.Environmental Officer The Environmental Officer in our Operational Support team works with PTA's operational business units to implement and enhance PTA's Environmental Management System.The successful applicant will undertake environmental site inspections, work with local governments to obtain environmental approvals, assist in liaising with local community groups including responding to complaints of an environmental nature, and progress improvement initiatives.About you We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic individuals with analytical and problem-solving skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to manage the demands of a fast-paced work environment.To be successful in these positions you will have relevant environmental expertise, including: Sound understanding of environmental legislation and its application.Experience in engaging and managing environmental consultants.Practical experience in environmental management.Knowledge and experience with a broad range of environmental issues.A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management, or related discipline.There are currently two (2) fixed-term positions available for a contract period up to 30 June 2027 with the possibility of further extensions and/or permanency.Suitable applicants may be appointed on a full-time or part-time basis.Initially, this selection process will be used to fill the above vacancies, but it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the agency within the next twelve (12) months on a permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.#J-18808-Ljbffr
